Abstract

Revision of the bee genus Brachyglossula Hedicke (Hymenoptera, Colletidae). Seven species of the South American genus Brachyglossula Hedicke are recognized: boliviensis, bouvieri, communis, leucothorax, martinezi, stolorum, and virescens. These bees occur in Peru, Bolivia, and western Argentina. Redescriptions and illustrations of the species described by Vachal, a cladistic analysis, and a key to the species are provided.
