Abstract

Pollen diagnosis of characteristic species in honey "of island" of the Entre Ríos Province, Argentine. This study deals with the description and illustration of morphological types identified in honeys comimg from the flooded islands that integrate the Superior Delta of the Paraná River. The pollen types treated, are those that have not been previously described in melissopalynologic works or whose descriptions and/or illustrations are insufficient for its diagnostic interpretation: Bidens laevis (L.) Britton, Sterns & Poggenb, Cleome hassleriana Chodat, Eichhornia azurea (Sw.) Kunth, E. crassipes (Martius) Solms-Laubach., Eryngium divaricatum Hooker & Arnott, Gymnocoronis spilanthoides (D. Don) DC, Holocheilus hieracioides (D. Don) Cabrera, Nymphoides indica (L.) Kuntze, Plagiocheilus tanacetoides Haenke. ex DC, Pontederia cordata L., and Sapium haematospermum Müll. Arg. The material was acetolized and observed with ligh and scanning electronic microscope. The importance of each taxon in the production of honeys of these areas, is remarked.
