Abstract
Revision of the oil-collecting bees of the genus Chalepogenus Holmberg (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Tapinotaspidini). Bees of the genus Chalepogenus occur in South America, with maximal diversity in Argentina. Twenty-one species are recognized, thirteen of which are described as new: bicellularis, calceolariae, clypeolatus, cocuccii, crassifasciatus, neffi, rasmusseni, roitmani, rozeni, rufipes, subcaeruleus, unicolor, and vogeli. The following nomenclatorial changes are proposed: Chalepogenus luciane (Urban) n. comb., Chalepogenus perimelaena (Cockerell) n. comb., Melitoma nigrotarsalis Brèthes n. syn. of C. nigripes (Friese), Chalepogenus incertus bipunctatus and C. incertus meliponoides n. syn. of C muelleri (Friese). A key to the species, decriptions, flower records, distributional data, and illustrations are provided.Downloads
