Description of the spider Verita williamsi, a new genus and species from Santa Fe, Argentina (Araneae, Gnaphosidae)
Keywords:
Ground spiders, taxonomy, Argentina, spinneret morphologyAbstract
Verita williamsi, new genus and species (Araneae, Gnaphosidae) is described from specimens recently collected in Northern Santa Fe Province, Argentina. By a peculiar combination of characters (only two piriform gland spigots, aligned setae on the leg scopulae, anterior lateral spinnerets not widely spaced) the species is probably a close relative of Micaria and some of the small representatives of the Anzacia group of genera.Downloads
